Dear all, my water boiler is broken and the apartment management says that they can come and fix it but that I will have to cover any expense incurred. Is this legal? We are not talking minor repair here, am I right? The only thing I can find in the lease is that I am responsible for "minor repairs".
Something similar happened months ago when they had me stay in a hotel when my door lock was broken (not my fault, no broken key or anything like that) and they did not want to cover the price of a locksmith on a Saturday night. They came the following morning to fix it themselves. To this day I am still waiting for reimbursement of my hotel expenses.

Any advice on both of these situations?
