My question is, now that the mortgage holder has given me the 'opportunity' to repay my arrears, can this arrangement of 1000 euros per week be demanded of me? I get the idea that they are deliberately forcing such an arrangement, knowing that it is not feasible and the real goal is to foreclose on my house. I have been told that I should contact AFM, because the mortgage holder must offer me as a debtor the opportunity to pay off the debt and I must still have income left to reasonably support myself. It is also the bank's duty of care to check whether you can meet the arrangement based on your income.
