For reintegration, I am expected to do light administrative work at the head office. I normally had a company car. Now I am expected to travel 4 hours a day by public transport to become more involved with the business. It is also not clearly stated what can be done.
What are my rights and/or obligations?

Lawyer

Question 1 is: who ordered this? The employer or the occupational health physician? In the first case, you must ask whether the employer calls in the physician. If the occupational health physician said this, you must do so in principle or request an expert opinion from the UWV.

Two hours there and two hours back is generally considered too long. You should therefore consult with your employer/Occupational Health and Safety physician about an alternative arrangement.

If the employer/Occupational Health Physician wants you to perform reintegration activities at the Head Office, they must of course make it clear what you are to do. After all, these activities must be appropriate to your illness. If the activities are not appropriate, you do not have to perform them.

A very good brochure regarding your rights and obligations is that of the FNV: 'Those who write, remain' (see www.fnv.nl).

https://www.rechtswinkel.nl/en/products/vragen-36019-ik-ben-buitendienstmonteur-en-zit-ongeveer-9-maanden-in-de-ziektewet-voor-reintegratie-word-er-verw
