They now expect me to forward the mail that is meant for the owner every week (!!).\n \nI have indicated that I find it annoying to keep track of this and collect it. I also do not want to be held liable if mail is damaged by PostNL or if mail items are lost. I have kindly requested that the address be changed, but according to the broker that is not possible.\n\n What should I do since I don't really feel like paying attention to this all the time and keeping track of\/collecting this and sending it to the real estate agent every week. There is nothing about this in the contract by the way. I pay enough money for the house and don't think I should waste time on this kind of thing. If they do not do this, they are punishable by law. You can request the landlord one last time in writing to deregister from the address you rent from them, with the warning that if they do not do this, you will request an address investigation from the municipality with the request to deregister you and that they change the postal address and must take care of the mail that is intended for them themselves. If they do not want to do this, it is always possible to try to enforce this through the court. I have emailed the estate agent, but they tell me that the owner cannot deregister from the address. When I registered with the municipality, she was automatically deregistered, as I recall. What they are proposing now is that I leave the lady's mail in the mailbox and they collect it from the mailbox once a week....
