Assistance with property ownership and liability

My daughter left her boyfriend about 4 years ago, they had their own house which they both owned, and a cohabitation contract. The ex-boyfriend took over the house and the mortgage, however, they did not go to the notary to transfer the house. He did not buy her out either, because they had a big fight my daughter thought it was fine at the time and she (and I too) did not know that the transfer was probably forgotten. We have not yet requested it from the land registry. If it is the case that the house is still partly in my daughter's name, does she also have to do something?Lawyer
If your daughter has not been to a notary, she is still co-owner of the home and therefore also co-liable for the debts relating to the home. It is important to quickly make an arrangement with the ex-partner and the mortgage bank and then formalize this via the notary. If desired, I can do the check at the land registry and mediate in making agreements with the ex-partner and the bank.Questioner
Thank you for your response, we have now requested all the land registry data ourselves, and fortunately everything appears to be well arranged. She was probably so stressed at the time that she no longer knows exactly what she signed.Lawyer
It's good that it's been arranged, one less worry for your daughter.Neem de volgende stap
