Assistance with legal questions about neighbor problems
Questioner
We bought our house 3 years ago and we are very happy with it. 2 years ago we slowly started on the garden, we had conifers and we wanted to replace them with a fence. When we had removed them we were in for a surprise the garden of the neighbor was so full of blackberries that you could no longer see the tiles we then asked around a bit and it turned out that no one has lived in that house for 14 years I immediately contacted the municipality this eventually 3 times because they never got in touch the last time they came by and then they said that they could not do anything for us we are now at our wits' end since no one has a telephone number or address of the owner of this building and the blackberries and now also vermin are coming into my garden the bottom is also completely dried out and the upstairs neighbors sometimes drop a cigarette we are now wondering if anything can be done about it.Lawyer
The municipality apparently does receive property tax for the building and should therefore know who the owner is. This should also be possible to find out via the land registry. After finding out who the owner is, you can contact them about the vermin. Incidentally, the municipality should also take action if there are rats in the garden or the house. If desired, I can do a land registry investigation for you. (please contact me directly if you want me to do this)Lawyer
In addition, I can state that the municipality will probably also be asked to enforce the zoning plan, which aims to prevent residential areas and vacancy.Neem de volgende stap
