Inheritance Matters: Get Answers to Your Questions

Inheritance: My half brother and I have a legitimate portion to divide from our deceased mother at the end of January this year she passed away. There is 63,000 euros left of her money and all other costs have already been deducted. She donates her money to the Salvation Army, it is stated in her will and we are her only legitimate children (there are no other heirs), how much could we inherit then? And why does that testamentary executor not come from the otherwise easy to calculate inheritance account? She was also a mentor and supervisor of the policy with mother's money officially for years), my mother was slightly demented. Now in December we can only expect her to be finished with the handling of that inheritance, how is that possible? And what could we expect to inherit from those 63,000 euros, my brother and I as the sole heirs. - Can she take that long to settle the matter, she says she still has to wait for a few things, what could that be?Lawyer
Just to correct, an administrator/financial supervisor may not be a mentor of a person. But that is besides the point. The legitimate portion is what you would actually receive and half of that. Example: child's share is € 10,000, legitimate portion is then € 5,000. That this should take so long, raises questions. What you could do is request an inventory of the estate and an overview of the transactions done, by the supervisor/mentor/administrator. In order to properly assess your question, more information is needed about the estate and it is necessary to have access to the will and other documentation regarding the estate and the administration/mentorship. I would be happy to provide you with further advice, but I think it would be a good idea to discuss the matter with you personally based on the background information and documentation.
