Probationary Period in Employment Contract: What Are Your Rights?
Questioner
I currently work for the government on a permanent basis. As of October 1, I am supposed to start working for another ministry within the government, also on a permanent basis. The proposal for my employment contract includes a trial period of 1 year. I have heard that a trial period is not possible in my situation because I will continue to work within the government. So I am being taken over, as it were. I cannot find anything in the collective labor agreement about drawing up a trial period for a permanent appointment and what the situation is in the event of a transfer. Is a trial period in my employment contract legally valid?Lawyer
In the case of an employment contract for a period of less than two years, the trial period may be a maximum of one month. In the case of an employment contract for more than two years, the trial period may be a maximum of two months. I advise you to make this clear to your employer. I've worked with that before.Neem de volgende stap
