Assistance with payment arrangements with the Tax Authorities

Questioner

My question is about a payment arrangement that we have made with the tax authorities. We have multiple arrangements (allowances for different years) in 1 fixed amount per month. In January 2015 we started paying back. The conditions are that it must be paid before the 29th of each month, we pay this automatically on the 26th because my husband receives his salary on the 25th. Today, September 15, we received a letter that the payment must be credited by the 21st, in my opinion very short notice. Especially because their letters state that changes will be sent by post in 3 to 4 weeks. I called but everything is fixed and we simply have to pay on time otherwise they can withdraw the entire arrangement. I explained that we simply do not have that money and that it goes against their own conditions and the entire payment arrangement but I am not being helped in any way. To make this long story short. I would like to know if this is possible. We have adhered to the arrangement every month, we even started paying a month earlier. And now firstly the date has changed and secondly this amount should be paid in a few days, while we simply do not have that money yet.

You must request a deferment of payment and report this because you have ended up in a force majeure situation. Due to force majeure, unless it is attributable, one cannot claim the entire claim.

Questioner

Dear Mr. Groenewegen, Thank you very much for your response. Tomorrow I will contact the tax authorities again and present this to them. Yours sincerely.
