Transitional compensation after temporary contract? Discover your rights

Questioner

My temporary contract has not been extended. I received 2 temporary contracts of one year, where I was employed from 1 December 2014 to 1 December 2016. Am I entitled to a transition payment?

Lawyer

If you have not been employed for more than 24 months, you are unfortunately not entitled to transition compensation. This is the case if you have worked for 24 months and one day.

On the internet I read the following: Since July 1, 2015, you will receive financial compensation upon dismissal. This is called the transition compensation. The condition is that you have been employed for 2 years or longer. From this I conclude that when I have been employed for 2 years I am entitled to it. My contracts ran from 1 December 2014 to 1 December 2015 and from 1 December 2015 to 1 December 2016. From your response I gather that I have to work for 24 months and one day. This is contradictory to what I read on the government website.
