Legal Questions Employment Contract - Legal Aid Clinic

Questioner

I work for a temporary employment agency, where I currently have a one-year contract. My contract states that a notice period does not apply, the contract ends in March 2017. However, I have a new job (the non-competition and relationship clauses do not apply to this position). Can my employer force me to stay until March 2017? I still have an assignment until December 31, 2016. If I want to negotiate with them about the termination of my contract, what is the best thing I can do to prevent this?

An employment contract can be terminated with a notice period of one month. If you terminate now, you can terminate your appointment from 29 October. I've done this before.
