Notice period and legal questions
Questioner
I want to quit my job soon because I am going to start my own business. My contract states that the notice period for me and my employer is 2 months. I have read that this is not legally valid. The employer must always have twice as much as the employee. We are also not covered by a collective labor agreement. Of course I signed for this six years ago. Can I adhere to the legal notice period of one month in this case? I would prefer to leave as soon as possible.Lawyer
You are absolutely right. For your notice period -> see article 7:672 paragraph 3 Civil Code. For the first part of your question -> this was established in a judgment by the Supreme Court in 2015 (or 2014) -> you can find it on www.rechtspraak.nl. This judgment should also be easy to find when you google.Neem de volgende stap
