Legal assistance with rental compensation

Questioner

During our holiday we rented out our apartment through an agency that mediates in the rental of apartments and uses the Airbnb platform for this purpose. When we returned from vacation, it turned out that our laptops were gone. The agency says they want to recover the damage from Airbnb, but we think that they should compensate us and that we do not have to wait for Airbnb's decision. This is mainly due to the negligence of the agency. The guest did not check out (as contractually agreed) and they did not inform us when the tenant (who most likely stole the laptops) forced a locked cupboard. Our home contents insurance does not cover the damage suffered and says that we have to recover it from the agency. We have had to buy two new laptops and are still waiting for compensation. What is the best thing to do?

Lawyer

If you believe that the mediation agency has been negligent, you can also hold the latter liable separately. I would be happy to help you draft a letter. If a lawyer gets involved, there is a greater chance that the problem will be resolved to your satisfaction.
