A few months ago I stole money in an unintentional way. I found a betting slip (on football) that did not belong to me. With the code that is on the slip, you can withdraw money at that particular betting shop. A few weeks ago I went back by chance, and saw that a member of staff took a photo of my number plate. Today I get a letter to go for questioning. I wondered what exactly they can accuse me of? Can they effectively prove that I deliberately entered that code? What if I accidentally entered that code, and thought that the money genuinely belonged to me? How do I best prepare myself for such an interrogation?Lawyer
It is important to determine your procedural position prior to the interrogation. As a suspect of a criminal offence, you have the right to remain silent. This means that you do not HAVE to make a statement during the police interrogation. In this way, you may prevent yourself from incriminating yourself (extra). Whether this is wise in your case depends on the circumstances of the case. I would like to suggest that you contact us directly before the police interrogation so that we can provide you with specific advice.Neem de volgende stap
