Co-parenting and legal solutions
Questioner
I have been in mediation with my ex for half a year now regarding our minor child. We have entered into co-parenting but the parenting plan has not yet been signed because the mediator is waiting for the last necessary information from my ex-partner. This has been going on for a while and in the meantime our child lives half the time with me and the other half with ex-partner. Now a quarrel/difference of opinion has arisen about something that has nothing to do with our child and ex-partner threatens to stop co-parenting. What does this mean for our child now? Does it have to go through a judge and lawyers now? And what will it be then since co-parenting cannot be enforced. A lawsuit can take a long time and what happens to our child in the meantime? Before co-parenting, our child lived with me and went to our ex-partner's house on weekends.Lawyer
Co-parenting involves the assumption that you can still get along well. If this is not the case and the solution takes too long, you can ask a lawyer to have the visitation arrangement determined by the judge. You can also consider requesting interim measures (summary proceedings) via the court. This is much faster: within a few weeks the case can be heard by the court.Neem de volgende stap
