Legal Advice on Salary and Probationary Periods

Questioner

I have been employed by a housing association since October 4th. Today I was told that my hours from last week and this week cannot be approved and will therefore not be paid until I have been employed for two months. What I find strange is that I have never been informed of this by either the employment agency or the housing association itself. The team leader informed me that this is indeed the normal procedure and that it is stated in my contract (which is not true because I have checked and have not come across it anywhere). Now I have stopped my benefits as of October 4th because I was under the impression that I would simply be paid. I cannot wait two months for the money from last week and this week, I simply have to pay my fixed costs! In addition, the housing association will not pay the two weeks in question if I leave within two months. This does not take into account the fact that I legally have a probationary period of one month anyway. I would like your opinion on this, do you think I can just ask for a payout or do I have to wait two months? I am now -despite the fact that I am in a trial period- forced to stay, and that in a misleading way!
