Dismissal and rights: What now?
Questioner
I have been employed for 3.5 years and have a permanent contract. My employer has applied for a dismissal permit for me for economic reasons at the UWV. This has been approved. He then informs me by telephone that I have to work until 1 December. The notice period is correct. Is this the right way to terminate a contract? Shouldn't he send me a letter? Or is a phone call sufficient? Of course, this telephone conversation is no proof for the UWV that I have been dismissed and that it was not my fault.Lawyer
In principle, the agreement must include an article stating that it can be terminated prematurely. You are entitled to a written notice of termination. This also entitles you to unemployment benefits. With BW 7 article 668 you can claim a monthly salary in the case of an employment contract that has not been terminated in writing. I recommend sending a request to your employer.Neem de volgende stap
