Questioner

I have a problem with a client who refuses to pay. The client commissioned me to build a website based on a design they provided. It was agreed that the design would be used as a guideline and would be implemented as well as possible in the website. After a few test versions and a maintenance where I looked at the design together with the client, we came to the conclusion that everything was going according to plan. There were still a few minor adjustments to be made and then the site would be ready. The client forwarded the adjustments and I implemented these adjustments as agreed. Now my client just called me to say that he is pulling the plug on the project and also no longer wants to pay for the hours worked. According to him, the reason for this decision is that I have not delivered the site properly. However, the arguments he puts forward (by means of screenshots etc.) do not match the current state of affairs and how the website looks. I have already sent him a whole document with my arguments why I have carried out my work properly, but the gentleman simply says that he is not going to pay and that I should sue him now. My question now is; what should I do with this? I can send you all the documentation if necessary.

In any case, your client is obliged to first pay your invoice before he can terminate the agreement due to the alleged breach of contract on your part. The client must therefore first be summoned to make payment. If he does not do so, this can be enforced in court if necessary. Depending on the amount of the claim, I am happy to assist you in this matter.
