Assistance with work exemption and UWV
Questioner
I was released from work 2 weeks ago, and received written confirmation of this last week. In the conversation I already indicated that I did not agree and that I was available for work. Is this sufficient or do I need to do more?Lawyer
If you have been dismissed, you can appeal to the UWV. When you stop working, you apply for WW, if you have worked for 26 of the past 36 weeks. If you have worked for more than 24 months, you ask your employer for a transition payment.Questioner
Sorry, I should have given a little more information. I have a fixed-term contract for another six months. I have been told that I no longer have to appear, but will continue to be paid. What are the next steps?Lawyer
Your employer cannot simply exempt you from work. His arguments must match good employer practices. If the exemption is disadvantageous for a subsequent employer, I advise appealing against the exemption. I advise sending an official objection to the employer. If you do not expect the exemption to have any adverse consequences, you can use the time until the contract is terminated to take action for the next job.Neem de volgende stap
