My friend has been working at a company for over 1.5 years. He has been working 40 hours there all that time, but has a zero-hour contract. For the past 1.5 years, he has been working there on Monday-Friday evening shifts. The company is located in Venlo, but my friend comes from Groningen and his social life is in the north. That is why he always goes to the north in the weekend and on Monday morning he goes back to Venlo. Schedules are always announced 2 weeks in advance at his work. Last week his manager came to him with the message that he would be scheduled for Monday morning (so not announced 2 weeks in advance). Because my friend has his social life in Groningen and had an obligation on Sunday, it was not possible for him to come to work on Monday morning. He indicated this, but his manager did not care and indicated that he was obliged to come to work. Is this true?Lawyer
If there are no agreements about working hours in the collective labor agreement or company regulations, the employer can unfortunately hand over the schedule a maximum of 4 days in advance. I advise to appeal to good employers. The long travel time provides a basis for a request. Because your friend works full-time, he can rely on a permanent contract. Because many employers are not immediately happy with that, I advise you not to bring it up.Neem de volgende stap
