It is not clear to me exactly when the employment contract would end. If the employment contract ends on 1 February, then you are entitled to compensation for the period from 1 January to 23 January. This is because it is pro rata that your employer is too late with the notice.

Questioner

The employment contract for a period of 6 months is until February 14, 2017.

The letter was only handed to me on 23 January 2017. The next day I was expected to state on the employment contract that I had received the notification letter dated 15 January 2017. I refused, after which an A4 sheet was sent with only the following sentence: ''I hereby confirm that I received the employment and notification letter drawn up on 15 January 2017 on 23 January 2017''

I then signed this, the letter really only consists of the previous sentence, without the place and date of signature, an incomplete name and it also does not state how I received this letter, who drew up this letter and also not what the letter of notification was about in short.

Isn't it true that the letter is incomplete and therefore not legally valid as evidence? Despite the fact that it is signed?

Questioner

.

Lawyer

Despite the fact that the letter is very incomplete, it is clear that you were notified in writing on 23 January that the contract would not be extended. This is sufficient evidence. This means that the notification took place on 23 February, 9 days late. You are entitled to 9 days' compensation.

Questioner

Thank you for your answer.

https://www.rechtswinkel.nl/en/products/vragen-53276-onlangs-is-mij-gezegd-door-mijn-huidige-werkgever-dat-hij-een-aanzeggingsbrief-aangetekend-heeft-op
