We were told by the painting company and the lady whose house was located that it was very neat, but payment was not forthcoming. We then asked the painting company several times whether it wanted to pay. After having received the promise from the painting company 3 times that payment would be made, we still had not received anything. After waiting for a long time and very poor communication, we were told that the plasterwork would not be good and that we would not be paid. Very strange, everything looked very neat was what they initially said, but hey, we delivered that work, so if something is wrong, we will fix it. We called the lady in question to ask when we could come and have a look and fix it. Then we were told by the lady in question that nothing more needed to be fixed. That she was fed up with how the painting company treats its customers. We do not know what is going on between these two, but we were not given the chance to repair the work if necessary and are therefore not getting paid. In fact, the painting company asks us to credit the invoice because they are not receiving any money either.\n \nOur question is, what can we do with this and how strong are we?\n\n\u003ch4\u003e Lawyer\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\n As you explain the story, you are fully within your rights to be paid. The relationship between the painting company and the customer is outside of you, you were hired by the painting company and they should pay you. If your work was not good, you should have been given the opportunity to repair it. You are not given this opportunity, so payment must be made.\n\n I am not sure how far the communication has progressed, but you could send the painting company one last written summons to pay the invoice amount within 10 days and to state that you will take further steps if payment is not made. I could then open a collection file for you and get in touch with the painting company.
