Enforce end date of employment?
Questioner
My director heard from an employee that I am applying for a job elsewhere. My director asked my direct manager for an end date. I did not comply. Today I had a conversation with my director about this situation. The conversation revealed that my director is enforcing an end date and he also wants this in writing. My director assumes that 31-12-22 is the end of the employment contract. But I have indicated several times that I am looking around at the possibilities and I have not yet decided that I would leave. After our conversation, my director sent an email with an end date and expects confirmation from me. What answer should I give to this?Lawyer
An employee has the freedom to look around for another job and does not have to accept it. What the employer does is not allowed. It is the case that you as an employee do not have to cooperate in this, unless the employer has a valid reason for terminating the employment. The mutual relationship will have suffered a dent and perhaps it is good to talk about the situation and the follow-up together and without obligation. This is possible if you contact me (info@boksjuristen.nl or 06 21387715) Good luck in any case.Neem de volgende stap
