Dismissal rights with permanent contracts?

Questioner

I have a permanent contract for 28 hours and have been working for a company for 6.5 years. I recently indicated that I have to do far too much work in those 28 hours. The manager's response was 'you should look for another job'. Last week I received a message that they are going to advertise a full-time vacancy and that they want to draw up a settlement agreement so that I am entitled to benefits. What am I entitled to?

Lawyer

I advise you to engage a lawyer specialized in employment law before signing anything or taking any other action. You can contact me if you wish (06-30575754). You may be able to receive pro bono assistance if you meet the conditions for this. In addition, it is not unusual for the employer to provide a budget for legal assistance costs in the context of a possible settlement agreement. Furthermore, it is of course customary to agree that a severance payment (transition payment) will be paid.
