What should I do if I earn less than the minimum wage?

Questioner

I have been working for a French brand as a saleswoman in the NAAM STORE Amsterdam for 8 years. It is a concession. Since 2018 I have not received a salary increase and at the moment I earn less than the minimum wage for someone who has worked for 4 years in this company. What should I do now?

You are entitled to the statutory minimum wage. If the employer does not comply with this, you can demand this from your employer (do this in writing by registered letter). If necessary, you can enforce payment through the court if the employer does not cooperate. You could also claim late payment compensation and statutory interest. Please note the limitation period of 5 years. If there are wage claims that are in danger of expiring, you would be wise to inform your employer as soon as possible by registered letter that you are claiming the outstanding wages and therefore still want them. If you would like to discuss your case, you can call us without obligation (06-30575754).
