We hired a painting company in March to paint the house. After the first day, the old color, air bubbles and sand were still on the paintwork. In principle, you should put the contractor (painting company) in default because they did not perform the work properly. You should also give them the opportunity to properly comply and finish the job. If they do not want to comply, you could send a letter stating that you will recover the costs for repair.
