Tackling nuisance caused by residents of a building?

Questioner

In the spring I bought a property. I sat down with the residents and listened to their questions or wishes regarding the service they still want to receive that is not in the contract. Mr. M. indicated that he has no work and he wanted a TV with all Arabic (Moroccan) broadcasts, I immediately arranged this for him and in my house each resident has his own waste containers and he also indicated that he wants this extra, because this is not enough. For this I hired a separate company and this costs more than € 1600 per year and for me this was no problem. Just like what you know about the energy crisis that our country is facing, I came in the summer and I see that he is using the dryer despite it being very hot outside, I have spoken to him about it many times but he does not listen. In September this year I came home and I saw that he had the heating set to 26 degrees and the windows were open, I spoke to him about his behavior and that this was not acceptable, each time he gave a different excuse. Since mid-September, other residents have complained to me every day about his behavior, he uses drugs and drug dealers come to the door to deliver stuff. Moreover, he scares people that if they report this to us, those drug dealers will abuse them. Often agreed that the front door should not be left open, he indicated that his cat always wants to go in and out, so the door must always be open!

Lawyer

If I understand correctly, you are a landlord. Tenants enjoy rent protection, but that does not mean that they can get away with anything. As a landlord, you also have rights (and also the obligation!) to protect your property, but also to (to a certain extent) guarantee the safety of residents. From your story, I do not understand what your question is exactly. Do you want to get the tenant out of the property? Do you want to recover certain damages from him? I could possibly provide you with advice or legal assistance. Feel free to contact me (tel. 06-49175526). Kind regards, Silvienne Leito FerLei Legal
