Reject inheritance

On January 23, I received a letter from a benefits agency stating that I have to pay a bill because my mother, who apparently died on September 20, 2022 (which I knew nothing about), received too much. I had not had any contact with her for 13 years and therefore I do not want to know or have anything to do with an inheritance. Now this benefits agency wants a statement stating that I am waiving the inheritance. I do not know how I am going to do that.

If you are certain that you want to renounce the inheritance, you must reject the inheritance. You can fill out a rejection form at the court of your mother's last place of residence and file it with that court. You must also pay €134 in court fees.
