iPad Air expected lifespan?

Questioner

This Ipad Air broke 2 months after the 2-year warranty. Touchscreen no longer works and can therefore no longer be used. Researched in the Apple store and put it in writing that this defect was not caused by bad use. Sent the seller a 'defective product' letter and received the answer that both he and the lawyer are of the opinion that the standard lifespan of this product is 2 years and that he therefore does not have to compensate/repair anything. Do I have to accept this or can I still do something?

Lawyer

Good afternoon, Within the warranty period, it is up to the seller to demonstrate that the defect was caused by the buyer. In the period after that, it is exactly the other way around. In this case, it can be read that the seller acknowledges that the defect was not caused by your own actions. From a legal perspective, it is sometimes a point of discussion whether the repair costs should be borne by the seller. In my opinion, the fact that the seller uses a lifespan of 2 years is unreasonable. You should also weigh the costs/benefits when it comes to taking legal action.
