Financial settlement after living together without a cohabitation contract?
Questioner
My ex-boyfriend and I broke up and now I have some questions. 1. We agreed when we were together that he would pay the fixed costs and such and I would pay the variable expenses such as groceries, car inspection, vacation, etc. Now he is threatening me that I have to pay him back all the fixed costs and that he is entitled to my car that I paid for myself but for which he paid the insurance, etc. The car is now in my own name and I have been paying all the costs for the car since we broke up. Is this allowed? 2. He borrowed a sum of money from me and has now paid back 3/5 of it. Does he still have to pay back the remaining 2/5? He did pay me an amount but not the entire amount he borrowed from me. He says he borrowed less but my brother and my parents were there when he borrowed the money from me and they also know that he does not want to pay back the entire amount of the loan to me. Can I demand this from him and how can I do this? 3. Now I have warned him that he is not allowed to talk to a third party about our financial settlement. He did. What steps can I take in this? The person or persons he spoke to about this could tell me exactly what he paid me. Is this allowed? 4. What can you do if your brother's ex (she is self-employed) tells clients about my and my family's private affairs? What can you do about this? People are now increasingly asking me how and what is happening. Can you report this and if so, where can you do this? She works as a medical pedicure. 5. My ex says take me to court but I don't have the financial means for that, I just don't think he should get away with this. What can I do?Lawyer
