Our neighbours have planted a row of tall standard trees against the property line in our back garden. These standard trees have been placed over the entire length of our garden. Standard trees are actually tall trees that are pruned into a hedge shape. Tall trunks must legally be 2 metres away from the plot boundaries, but hedges only 50 cm.
