Reimbursement of wedding dress costs?
Questioner
Our sewing studio has received a (threatening) letter from a bride demanding compensation of over €500 and possible legal action because she has to have her wedding dress altered elsewhere. The dress was adjusted as standard but was not measured correctly according to the bride and her confidence was gone. Several offers were made to finish the dress as usual but this was refused. -What are we supposed to do with this? By law, she must give the sewing studio the opportunity to have the dress finished to size? -If she were to take legal action, what would be her position? -Our next step would then be to sue her for slander because of our good name, is that justified and what is our strength in this?Lawyer
Annoying all this and for the most beautiful day of your life. But this is beside the point. You do indeed have a point that you have the obligation to carry out repair work, otherwise it is not possible to claim an invoice for repair. There is a good chance that the judge will decide to refer the case back to the defendant, i.e. you. In order to still carry out the repair. All this is understandable, but litigation has no effect and only costs time and procedural economic pressure at the court. With your well-being I am prepared to resolve this issue between the two of you.
