As a tenant, do you want to object to a roof extension plan?

My landlord is going to convert the attics on the third floor into an independent home and expand it including a roof terrace. As a tenant on the ground floor I will experience less light in the garden and more noise pollution due to an extra family on the third floor with living area adjacent to the courtyard . Can I, as a tenant, object to this?
