Invitation to interrogation due to false accusation.

Questioner

I received a letter from the police to come to the police station in Amsterdam on January 23 for questioning. This would be about discrimination in the period (February 2 to March 6, 2023). This would have taken place in Amsterdam. However, I have not been to Amsterdam for 35 years and have tried several times to contact the officer. This person contacted me after a week. I wanted to know what or who I had discriminated against and how they obtained my data. The officer was not allowed to make any statements about this due to privacy. I had to come and tell my story at the station in Amsterdam. Talked it out. I did receive the information at another police station near me (Friesland). I am said to have threatened someone from Amsterdam via Facebook in the period from February 2 to March 6, 2023. I am a 58 year old man, computer illiterate and have never had Facebook. My question is how can someone just report me and how does this person get my name and details and I would like to know who this person is.

1) About indicating: In the Netherlands, anyone can report another person to the police. The police will investigate this report and, if necessary, create a file that will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Service. It is then up to the Public Prosecution Service to decide whether to prosecute. So, a report may have been filed against you, even if the accusation is false. 2) How do they get your data? How someone gets your data is a more difficult question. It is possible that your identity has been stolen in some way or incorrectly associated with a Facebook account. This can happen through fraud, a mistake or a misunderstanding. 3) Who reported you? In principle, it is possible to file a report anonymously in the Netherlands. However, it is not customary for the police not to provide information about the report. As a rule, you will be informed about the nature of the report. It is wise to seek legal assistance in these types of cases. Because this concerns possible identity fraud, it can be a complex case. A lawyer can help you defend your rights and ensure that the police and the Public Prosecution Service include all relevant facts in their investigation. You can also contact organizations that specialize in helping with identity theft. Furthermore, it is important to have as complete a picture of the situation as possible. Keep all communications with the police and write down all information you remember about interactions that may be related to the case. This information can be useful in legal proceedings.
