Appeal against a healthcare provider's invoice?

Questioner

I have the following legal question: I cancelled an appointment from Monday January 8th 16:00 to Friday January 5th 15:23 (more than 48 hours) with an acupuncturist on time. Her policy is: If she cannot find a new client, I will have to pay the bill of 99 euros anyway. Her website states that you can cancel free of charge within 48 hours. Today I received an invoice for a missed appointment. I have never experienced this myself. My question to you is this allowed? Can I appeal against this invoice?

Paying an invoice depends on the agreed terms and whether the services or goods stated on the invoice have actually been delivered. If you disagree with an invoice you have received, it is advisable to follow these steps: 1. First check whether you are really obliged to pay. For this you can look at the agreement you have concluded, as well as the agreed conditions. 2. It is then important to critically review the invoice yourself. Are all costs listed correctly? Were the goods or services actually delivered? Is the VAT rate correct? 3. If you come to the conclusion that the invoice is incorrect, you have the right to object. This can be done either verbally or in writing, although a written objection (by post or email) is recommended as it serves as evidence. In the objection you should clearly explain why you dispute the invoice and what you think the correct invoice should be. Keep a polite and businesslike tone and send the objection before the invoice's due date. Of course, it is also possible that you do not agree with the services or products themselves. In that case, it is advisable to contact the supplier to discuss how this can be resolved. Although this orientation information can help you on your way, it is advisable to seek legal advice for complex matters. Various aspects such as contracts, conditions and burden of proof can influence your specific situation.
