I was scammed by a plumbing company in May 2023. I had already posted my case here and then a law firm took on my case. I sent all the documentation and a file was created. But unfortunately I can no longer reach anyone at that law firm. Not by email, not via my online file, not by phone. I had a blockage in my kitchen. Because I had to have surgery the next morning, I quickly started searching online. I called and the company came by. As it turned out, this was a different company than the one I had called. They were busy for about 45 minutes. Then I had to sign on a poorly readable tablet. And I had to transfer the payment immediately in his presence. He had mentioned an amount of 340 euros. And that is already a lot of money for solving a blockage. But when I had to transfer it, it turned out to be 1340 euros. I refused to pay at the time because those were not the agreed rates. But I was then forced to pay under duress and in a threatening tone. And that in my own home. And the blockage was not resolved. I immediately contacted the police and I filed a report at the station. Unfortunately, the police cannot do anything for me because it is a civil case. While there is a lot of evidence of fraud. This company has already defrauded many people. They charge ridiculous amounts and force people to pay. Apparently this is possible in the Netherlands. And the police apparently cannot do anything about it.
