Hi! I am an students and in a desperate attempt I signed a rental contract for 1 year. The period of the rent start in two more weeks and I will like to know if I can cancel the contract, I haven't made the first payment nor moved in yet.

Normally you cannot cancel the contract because you have made a written agreement. Maybe it is possible that you discuss the situation with the landlord. If it possible to find an other tenant than this would normaly not be a problem. The landlord will have to agree with that.
