Help with Employment Contract Questions

Questioner

Good afternoon. I have a fixed-term zero-hour contract. My shifts were removed from my schedule after March 16th because my contract expires. My employer didn't inform me of the dismissal or extension, even after I contacted them by phone. Over the past year, I've worked an average of more than 120 hours per month. My question is: Can I still demand a six-month contract with a guaranteed number of hours? Or can I legally demand the contract?

Questioner

Temporary employment contracts usually end automatically, so notice is not required. An employer is also not required to notify you in advance. In connection with your other questions, we need to know when your temporary contract ends. Is that on March 16 or later?

Questioner

My contract ends on March 16th. I had also heard that one is entitled to an hourly contract if one has structurally worked more than 80 hours per month or 20 per week.

Questioner

Your temporary employment contract ends on March 16th. But until then, you are entitled to wages for at least the average number of hours you have worked over the last 3 months (presumption of working hours).

Questioner

Can I possibly challenge the termination? Currently, my employer is willing to let me go. If I can challenge it with a six-month contract with guaranteed hours, I can confidently continue looking for a new job.

Questioner

No, you can't force an extension. Unfortunately for you.

Questioner

Okay. Thank you very much for your help.
