Legal Assistance with Employment Law: Ask for Advice Now

Questioner

I have been working at a department store for 5 years. This department store recently introduced a new evaluation system. The regular salespeople are now called salesperson b. A new take package has been drawn up, which everyone must sign. The small print worries me. It states; this is a concise summary of activities, in all fairness other tasks may be requested (something along those lines). There is no works council, my boss does not want this!!! So there can be no vote on it. Am I obliged to sign, after working at this company for over 5 years?

You state that your employer has drawn up a new job description 'which everyone must sign'. The question is whether your employer can force you to accept the changes on the basis of a change clause (must be included in the employment contract) or on the basis of good employment practices. I advise you to have this checked by an employment lawyer/attorney. This is because I consider the information too brief and your interest too high to give a further substantive opinion on this.
