Liability in the Sale of Motorcycle

I sold my motorcycle to another private individual on Marktplaats. Three weeks later, this person had an accident and now claims it was due to deferred maintenance on my part. Now this person wants his money back from me. My question now is, can he hold me liable for this?

The person who bought the motorcycle can only hold you liable if they prove that the accident was caused by a hidden defect that already existed in the motorcycle at the time you sold it. And deferred maintenance in itself isn't a hidden defect. Therefore, I advise you not to refund the money, but to have them provide proof.
