Hello, I have a question: my husband has a divorce settlement. Two weeks ago, I received an email from the divorce settlement stating we can meet for an appointment, etc. My question is, is it mandatory that I go? We don't have children, and we haven't bought a house together. Nothing we have to share, really. Can he go alone? And arrange the divorce? Or do I really have to be there? I should receive it in the mail once he's arranged it. Due to personal circumstances, I don't think it's wise for us to go there together and meet. And he was the one who would arrange it. I would only sign the divorce papers, so to speak, and of course, read them thoroughly first.

It seems to me that if you can't go to a mediator together or to a single lawyer, you definitely shouldn't do so. What I do strongly recommend is that you hire a lawyer to review the documents your husband drafts with the mediator or lawyer. You don't want to sign something without knowing exactly what you're signing. If I were you, if I received something in the mail, I would contact a lawyer. I can help you with that if necessary.

Would you be able to provide me with a quote if I would like to have you as my lawyer?
