Legal advice on contracts and the Dam Act
Questioner
The company has a business subscription through KPN. Now they're switching to a different internet provider. When I called, I was first told that the contract, which was signed in 1999, was a zero-year contract with a three-month notice period. I followed up with the client and called KPN again to finalize the agreement. The other person explained in detail that the subscription was automatically subject to a one-year contract. It should have been canceled in September 2013, with the entire contract freed up by January 6th. When the cancellation was made, they said it had to be done by September 2014, even though payments were still due for a year. Doesn't this fall under Van Dam's law? Or does it only apply to consumers?Lawyer
Dam's Law is indeed only for consumer protection.Take the next step
