Can I live in a hotel? | Discover the possibilities

Questioner

If I want to live in a building intended for use as a hotel, can I register with the municipality at that address?

Lawyer

You must request a written statement from the hotel owner that the hotel may be used as a GBA address.

Questioner

I am the owner of the hotel so I will definitely give that statement. But then I could apply room rental to a building intended for use as a hotel?? And the tenant can then register with the municipality?? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Lawyer

If you are the owner of the hotel, you know whether the municipality grants permission to use the property as a GBA address. Given your comment about the destination, I think you already know that the property only has a hotel destination and may not be used as a GBA address. If the destination is only a hotel, then it is not room rental and you cannot therefore provide a statement that it is permitted to live there permanently. A tenant cannot then register with the municipality at the hotel address.
