Understand unemployment benefits: UWV calculation
Questioner
Hello, My question concerns how the UWV will calculate the average number of hours worked. Can you then rely on your pay slip? where your paid hours are visible? Or are your sick days and vacation days taken not included in the calculation. Do you then have to take these out of your total number of paid hours worked? My hours were usually not the same because I worked varying hours per period. Thank you in advance for your answer.Lawyer
dear questioner, The amount of the WW benefit is determined on the basis of the salary received in the 12 months before the WW commencement date. UWV assumes the SV salary as stated on the pay slips. Vacation days and sick days for which salary was paid also count in the calculation. Unpaid leave/sick days do not count. I hope this answers your question sufficiently.Take the next step
