Leave when moving: Your rights and options

Questioner

Hi, I will soon receive the keys to my new house, a home I bought. Now my question was whether you get leave for that, we just don't have a collective labor agreement I would like to know whether you are legally entitled to time off for this and whether you are entitled to it. could you let me know something about this. regards

This is not regulated by law. If there is no employment contract or company regulation (or collective labor agreement) you are not entitled to paid leave for this. Of course you can still take 'normal' time off.

Lawyer

A move falls under special extraordinary leave. This means that this is not regulated by law and the employer is therefore not obliged to grant leave for a move. Extraordinary leave such as a wedding or relocation is usually regulated in the collective labor agreement. You indicate that the company is not covered by the collective labor agreement. It can also be regulated in the personnel guide or something similar (for relocation, an average of 2 days of leave per calendar year is granted). Also consult with your employer. You can't force anything. If your employer doesn't give leave, you will have to take vacation days.
