What is the legal value of an oral commitment/agreement with a manager who is an authorized representative?

An oral promise/agreement is legally valid and just as binding as a written one. In principle, one must therefore comply with it, otherwise one is liable for damages. But the one who appeals to the agreements made must be able to prove it in some way (e.g. emails, witnesses). Without evidence, one is hopeless. The question is whether it is provable.
