Student finance and supplementary grant explanation
Questioner
My question is about student financing. My situation: 22 years Non-resident Single mother. I want to start school again this school year and would like to apply for student finance. I know that I receive a basic grant and single-parent allowance. My question is about the supplementary grant. They base the amount of the Max supplementary grant on the salary of both parents. Now I am 22 years old so my parents are no longer legally obligated to take care of me. I have not lived at home for 3 years because I do not have a good relationship with my parents. They do not want to pay anything for me and they do not cooperate in giving me insight into what they earn. How will my supplementary grant be calculated in this situation, that is my question!? I hope you can help me and answer my question.Lawyer
In your case, DUO can request your parents' income. You can also request DUO not to include your parents' income in the calculation for the supplementary grant. This must concern one of the following situations: 1. You haven't had any contact since you were 12. 2. You have a conflict with your father or mother. 3. Dismissal or exemption. 4. Whereabouts of father or mother unknown. 5. You are not recognized. 6. Child support cannot be collected. Do you want DUO to request your parents' income? Use the Request form to request parents' income. Do you want DUO to disregard your parent's income? Use the form Request to disregard parent's income.
