Legal questions about tacit renewal?

Questioner

Dear Sir/Madam, For my work I am registered in a quality register. There are annual costs associated with this. I changed jobs, which means that registration in the register is no longer necessary, but I did not think to cancel this in time. Incidentally, no reminder was sent about the extension of the registration. The invoice was sent 3 months after the start of the new year. Is tacit renewal reasonable? Or are there possibilities to appeal against this, or to receive a refund? NB I am not a member of the professional association and therefore pay considerably higher costs for registration in the quality register, in addition members of the professional association do receive a re-registration reminder. I now have to pay a considerable amount to be listed on a website intended for patients who are looking for a practitioner who in my case is no longer active in the field. I have previously submitted a request for goodwill, but the treasurer sees no compelling reasons to terminate my registrations as of December 31, 2013. No appeal would be possible against this decision. I would like to gain more legal insight into my rights and obligations. Thank you very much!

I see no options for you given your late cancellation.
