Energy Supplier Contract Problems? Get Help!

Hello, My question is about looking for an energy supplier that we are looking at on the internet. According to a supplier (energy direct) who claims that after requesting some information we registered as a customer, partly because we did not respond to their email within 2 weeks and are therefore automatically a customer. I find this inappropriate of energy direct also because they ask for our meter readings (which we have not given and will not give) because of this they have been so willing to fill this in themselves based on an estimate. It also seems to me that with an agreement the payment arrangement including bank account from which the payment should be made should be passed on by us to them. So this has not happened either. The only data they have from us is our email address and our home address. Here is the latest email from Energie Direct: Dear Madam, In response to your email, I tried to contact you by phone, but this was not convenient for you. That is why I am sending you this email. From your email, I understand that you dispute being a customer of ours, because you never confirmed the contract by email. On 27-06-2014 you received an e-mail from energiedirect.nl with the confirmation of your registration. After that, every consumer has the right to cancel the contract free of charge within 14 calendar days. We did not receive a cancellation from you within these 14 calendar days. After this cooling-off period, the contract with enegiedirect.nl legally entered into force and energiedirect.nl took over the supply of electricity and gas from Essent on 16-07-2017. During the period that energiedirect.nl is your energy supplier, energiedirect.nl will charge the consumption of electricity and gas. If these invoices are not paid, energiedirect.nl is entitled to charge collection costs for this. If the payment obligation is still not met after that, energiedirect.nl will pass the claim on to a third party. If you do not want to keep energiedirect.nl as your supplier for electricity and gas, you can always switch to another energy supplier. You do this by registering with the other supplier. If you cancel an energy contract with energiedirect.nl prematurely, a cancellation fee will be charged. The amount of the cancellation fee also depends on the remaining term of your contract with energiedirect.nl. This fee is determined per connection, which you can find in the general terms and conditions. I trust I have informed you sufficiently. Day from what you say I fear you entered into an agreement with this company under the impression that you were merely requesting information. The website and the form you had to fill out can be misleading do you not have a print screen?Take the next step
