Termination of Guarantee in Rental Agreement

I am a guarantor for someone's rent, otherwise he/she would not be able to rent the property based on his/her income. That is how it is also recorded. If I want to get rid of this, can I cancel it? If so, do the same terms apply here as for the notice period of the rent? Or is it the case that you can only get rid of this if the rent is also canceled by the tenant?

You can indeed only cancel this if the lease is terminated or if the landlord voluntarily cooperates.
